I
am the Spirit of the Dublin Service League.
I
was born in the hearts of twelve young ladies
who unselfishly saw beyond themselves into the needs of others.
I
extend my hands to clothe the needy.
My
feet carry me into the home of the aged and lonely,
escorting them to parties given in their honor.
My
heart reaches out to a society lamed by drugs.
I
appeal to the minds of all fourth graders
urging them to escape
these threats to their lives.
I
long to be a part of tomorrow through the furtherance
of education for our
youth of today.
I
am the heartbeat of community service
involving myself in
many special requests.
I
hold Service League families together by shear magic
during the hectic
early days of November.
In
a thousand ways I cause the eyes of the Dublin Service League
to look up into the face of the Model Servant
and to again be challenged by His Words,
"Inasmuch as ye have
done it unto the least of these my brethren ye have done it unto
me."
I
am the Spirit of the Dublin Service League. |
